FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE
Florence nightingale did not
like easy and pleasant occupation of society; instead of going out to parties,
she visited London
hospitals and studied how sick people were nursed back to health and strength.
She was shocked by the roughness and stupidity in those hospitals. So she made
up her mind to study nursing. She studied and when she was quite certain that
she had mastered her subject, she began her work of improving the nursing in
hospitals. While busy with her work, a war broke out in Crimea between Russia and England. The people only thought of
the glory of the battle and the courage of the soldiers who went singing to the
battle field and embraced their death. But she heard about the dreadful stories
of English soldiers wounded in the Crimean War. She hurriedly went to the war
field with other nurses to render the best nursing service.
